The CSO Program is expected to provide the opportunity for additional community benefits such as incorporating Green Solutions and providing other benefits developed in the community criteria. In some instances additional benefits can be derived as a cost-neutral feature of a CSO Solution. In other instances additional funding sources will need to be identified.

For example:

• The sewer system will be evaluated for prevention of sewer backups into homes and businesses.
• Where possible, drainage will be improved and street flooding occurrences reduced.
• Opportunities for improvements to streets, landscaping, parks, and other utilities (water, gas, electrical, etc.) will be considered for inclusion during construction of projects.
