CSO! Program: Funding & Financing

Funding

The CSO Solutions will be funded through sewer fee rate increases. Until 2006 Omaha had not increased the rates since 1992.  The rates will increase throughout the life of the program. In 2017, rates will be about $50 a month. 

Financing

The implementation of the CSO Solutions will be financed with 30-year revenue bonds issued in period increments as approved by the Mayor and City Council.  As rates increase they will be used to pay off the bonds over many years to come.
